Arnold vetoed over 200 rat bills this year so far. A couple of cpas who monitor this activity said that those vetoes saved us billions in taxes this year and every year.
I wasn't that great of a fan of Pete Wilson's, but I kept voting for him because of his vetoes of the insanity from Willie Brown and other rats in the legislature.
I don't know what CPAs you are referring to, but that isn't what has been reported. Last month, it was reported that he has vetoed less than 0.2% spending over the past two years (millions, not billions).
CA: Governor seeks greater control over spending to avoid deficitsOpponents say the governor already can make cuts by using the line-item veto, but administration officials say its practical effects are minimal given the enormous expenditures in a $117.5 billion budget. The governor has used the line-item veto 133 times in the past two years, cutting $435,322 in spending.
Even McClintock seems to be giving credit to Arnold for doing battle on these issues. Yet some of McClintocks' supporters refuse to take their cue from their own guy, and still want to refight the last gubernatorial election. They had a chance to actually vote for the stuff they claim to believe in, yet they stayed home in the political equivalent of a temper tantrum. How short-sighted and juvenile can you get.
