If you know anyone local who'd like to attend, FReepers or otherwise, this was posted in one of the papers...
A candlelight vigil is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday in memory of Officer Brian Jackson at the central police patrol station at 334 S. Hall St. in Dallas.
From WFAA-TV...
"[I want him remembered] as a son, a brother, a husband, a brother-in-law, a friend and a grandson," she said. "He was a police officer, but he was a person too. He was my husband, and I want people to know he was a good person."
Jackson recalled a story of her husband helping a Louisiana evacuee who was stranded on the side of the road.
"Brian took the last $60 out of his wallet and gave it to him to help him cover the cost to get his car fixed because he had no money left," she said.
Jackson said her husband was always volunteering to help people, and would have given the shirt of his back.
But in the end, Officer Jackson gave much more.
Jackson said she is touched by the outpouring of support and love she has received from the community and the men and women of the Dallas Police Department.
The candlelight vigil for Officer Jackson will be Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Central Patrol in Dallas.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Highland Oaks Church of Christ.
Live coverage of the funeral will be on WFAA.com, digital channel 8.2 or TXCN.
Wish I could attend, but I'm in Michigan now.
