	Your argument is clearly true and unimpeachable. It is one that I have used several times with a group of my son's friends, all clever, bright and yep liberal Juniors in college. (with the exception of my son, a die hard conservative) I can see in their eyes and hear in their voices every time I drag your argument into play that they not only understand it, but they can't poke holes in it. (They are all 7-8 year veterans of debate teams) The problem with the argument is with the masses. Unless you can condense this into a 10 second sound bite they won't listen and worse won't comprehend your logic. It's a shame because you are certainly accurate and have hit the proverbial nail square on the head.

That's a fact. People will spend hours watching the latest "Reality" television shows but they can't be bothered spending a few minutes trying to understand matters of (literally) life and death. It seems like the battle between the right and the left has increasingly become one between those who pay attention to facts (and apply basic logic to them) and those who are easily swayed by emotions and sound bites.
