KISSING UP TO THE LEFT 101: John Edwards
MuscleHead Revolution ^ | 11.13.2005

Posted on 11/13/2005 5:11:17 PM PST by jodiluvshoes

The argument for going to war with Iraq was based on intelligence that we now know was inaccurate. The information the American people were hearing from the president -- and that I was being given by our intelligence community -- wasn't the whole story. Had I known this at the time, I never would have voted for this war.

We might also add, it was the same information that you were hearing from the same sources the President had. We might also add that the British Intelligence, French Intelligence, Russian Intelligence, Italian Intelligence, and Israeli Intelligence all believed exactly the same thing. And of course if Saddam did have the weapons and either bury them or relocate them out of Iraq - all of these intelligence agencies would be seen as necessarily consistent.

George Bush won't accept responsibility for his mistakes. Along with Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, he has made horrible mistakes at almost every step: failed diplomacy; not going in with enough troops; not giving our forces the equipment they need; not having a plan for peace

Failed diplomacy? Saddam was repeatedly lying to the inspectors, 14 U.N. Resolutions, 10 years of giving the world community the middle finger, and a 48 hour warning to leave the country weren't enough for Saddam to reform - what was there left to be diplomatic about?

John Edwards likes being in bed with MoveOn, Kos, and DU. How did he ever get elected as Senator...

"And if John Kerry were president, Christopher Reeves would rise from the dead and walk again and the intelligence would have been accurate".

Is he saying that Bush induced the CIA to provide Bill Clinton and Al Gore cooked intelligence, at the time when Bush was Governor of Texas and Clinton was President?

How did Governor Bush accomplish that? (It was all part of the strategery.)

I think the Breck Girl ex-Senator is saying that the same intelligence community that gave us flawed intelliegence before the war ....would have been trusted by John Edwards and the democrats ..... to provide accurate intelligence to support a pre-911 status quo world.... where our national strategy was based on "containing" Saddam Hussein and preventing other rogue states from building nuke/bio weapons or attacking western civilization .... by making tough sounding speeches and passing another decade's worth of meaningless resolutions at the UN.....

He's saying the world would be a better and safer place today and the USA would be safer from future terrorist attacks, if Saddam Hussein was still in power.

I wonder where he thinks al Qaeda would be operating from today and in what strength and with what sponsorship...if we had booted them out of Afghanistan and quit?

You must understand the depth that these people have for not only W. but the entire Bush family (aka Bushco). They are responisible for the raise of Hitler (Prescott was supposed to help finance him), the Bay Of Pigs and JFK assassination (HW was in the CIA long before he became the director in the 70's). That's just the more memorable accomplishments. Busy, weren't they?

Suprisingly, the letters to the editor section of the Charlotte Observer (Knight-Ridder birdcage liner) was full of letters trashing Edwards today.

Edwards was elected senator in 1998 by espousing Republican positions and claiming he wanted to be a senator like Helms. His current leftwing positions are likely no more sincere than his conservative warblings were in 1998. He's a vain empty suit with no principles, no convictions.

When are looking at this page/thread click on "more" at the top right of the screen. Then click on "my Locale." Then click on "set my location." Put in as much or as little info as you want. When done you may need to scroll down to the NC link and click on that. There is an option near the top that allows you to be notified whenever a new message on the NC board is posted.
