I live in the bible belt so I know more evangelicals than you do. They are not the reason science is not being taught. The evangelicals do not have any problems with chemistry, physics, math or even biology. They just believe in ID. Many of them accept most of Darwin's Theories they just don't believe life happened independently of a creator. This is a religious belief and they should not be discouraged from seeking a rewarding career in science because they are not Marxists.

Also, I've met many scientists over the years. Many, if not most, hold deeply felt religious beliefs. Some are evangelicals.

My point is that the way the debate is being framed is harmful. You have even fallen into the trap with use of the word Marxist. To be perfectly honest, Marxism has nothing to do with ID or evolution. It's a very specific economic/social doctrine based on the writings of Karl Marx. But summoning Marx as an insult is the kind of imprecise thing that drives scientists crazy.

Pretty easy to see that you've swallowed somebody else's talking points hook line and sinker.

Unless you care to document that all believers in evolution are atheists, materialists, and / or Marxists.
