I know. The country is regionally polarized and Ontario feels that if they give the Conservatives a mandate, they believe that they will pay a price as influence inevitably flows west. The Liberals have been playing this canard for 30 years, It has worked.

Ontario regards the Conservatives as dangerous because they would drastically cut down to size Ontario's preponderant influence in Parliament. If there's an Elected Senate, you do the math. Its more about $$$ and less about ideology, though its a consideration. Under the current setup, there's no incentive for ON to vote for a Western Canada based and led political party.
