I'm also looking forward to the Libby trial. Russert's lawyers negotiated an agreement that he only had to testify about *one* conversation he had with Libby. Libby testified about several conversations.
I will enjoy watching Russert squirm when he has to either testify about the other conversations, or claim that he can't. "Protecting the source" arguments won't do it (except in the MSM).
I closed my email to Russert with...I hope Fitzgerald saw your performance this morning.
He's certainly not the sharpest needle on the tree!
Great find! Link to story now up on L**anne.com, too.
Don't know whether he will even mention it or not. Everytime he says something nice about Russert or sticks up for him when some caller calls him for the puke he is, I want to remind Rush of his own advice about how to treat the press - stay away from them.
I'll be interested to see which (if any) "personality" calls him on it. My money is on Hugh Hewitt.
Did you notice the place where the cameraman came back to Rockefeller when he wasn't speaking to show his reaction either to something said by Roberts or Wallace? I'm always pleased when I see someone behind the camera has a sense of humor. Rockefeller was cringing like someone had just smacked him in the head with a 2x4! Not exactly a poker face!
I've come to the sad conclusion that many, maybe most, of the Senate Republicans find standing up for themselves, or for the country, or for what is right, is just beneath them and not part of their job description. The RNC has plenty of $ so I've been wondering for years why don't they hire a good PR outfit to fight their battles since they are unwilling to dirty their hands in doing so. That would be a step in the right direction because, sadly, it doesn't look like any of them are going to change.
I saw that clip on Russert yesterday. Thanks for providing the explanation about this disgusting media trick.
Mr Potatohead is the Goebelite of the Democrap Party and the MSM!
Done. Thanks for the link.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw his body (and face) language. If Rockefeller was willing to expose his unhappy feelings like that, he must really be unnerved.
Roberts was REALLY GOOD at getting out the truth, without provoking an argument, yesterday.
Good point.
The lsat time Russert had H. Dean on, he was trying to get him to say he was pro-abortion. This time he was kissing some major ass.
He despises Powell. Remember that interview when Powell was in the MEast and he accussed him of pulling the plug?
I didn't know that. It's just like Fitzgerald's only requiring info on ONE source from Miller.
Looks like he picked his target and proceeded to set it up, but how can he expect the other stuff not to come up at a trial. I guess he figured there wouldn't be a trial--just a plea agreement since he left Libby looking at a possible 30 years...
Yes. LOL I videotaped that segment.
