It looks like the MSM is becoming more brazen about misleading their viewers. Here we have an example of Tim Russert insinuating that Colin Powell said the administration misled him and the American people.
Hmmmm, looks like little Timmy Russert is giving Scooter's attorneys plenty of ammo in the upcomming trial. This out to be good.
If Powell was misled..he was misled by Tenet!
Russert is still a Dem operative.
The Pillsbury Doughboy was kind combative with Mehlmann.
Turned it off before he gave Howie a handjob under the table.
Only a fool has so little fear.
I saw MTP this morning and it was obvious that Powell was talking about the source of the intelligence being "deliberately misleading". I didn't know it was about another subject altogether until reading the link. UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE!
How dare you! Forget that he worked for both Moynihan and Cuomo. Forget that he got his first gig at NBC because of Moynihan's close friendship with an executive at NBC.
He's a professional, darn it! He can just check his lifetime association to Demorats at the door.
;)
Today, November 13, 2005 on "Meet the Press"
MR. RUSSERT: "On solid intelligence." And then 15 months later, the secretary of state came on this program and said this.
(Videotape, May 16, 2004):
SEC'Y POWELL: But it turned out that the sourcing was inaccurate and wrong, and in some cases, deliberately misleading. And for that, I am disappointed, and I regret it.
(End videotape)
MR. RUSSERT: "Deliberately misleading." That's the secretary of state. So why can't Democrats now say that the administration deliberately misled the American people?

Now, read what Secretary Powell really said:
Russert: Thank you very much, sir. In February of 2003, you put your enormous personal reputation on the line before the United Nations and said that you had solid sources for the case against Saddam Hussein. It now appears that an agent called Curveball had misled the CIA by suggesting that Saddam had trucks and trains that were delivering biological and chemical weapons. How concerned are you that some of the information you shared with the world is now inaccurate and discredited?
Powell: I'm very concerned. When I made that presentation in February 2003, it was based on the best information that the Central Intelligence Agency made available to me. We studied it carefully; we looked at the sourcing in the case of the mobile trucks and trains. There was multiple sourcing for that. Unfortunately, that multiple sourcing over time has turned out to be not accurate. And so I'm deeply disappointed. But I'm also comfortable that at the time that I made the presentation, it reflected the collective judgment, the sound judgment of the intelligence community. But it turned out that the sourcing was inaccurate and wrong and in some cases, deliberately misleading. And for that, I am disappointed and I regret it.

It seems Russert's manipulation of Powell's words is far greater than any "manipulation" by the administration. What I can't believe is how they say the absolute OPPOSITE of Bush's comments, for example, the term "imminent" I've heard the Dems and the press say Bush said there was an "imminent threat" when one look at the speech shows he purposely said it was a "gathering threat" NOT imminent!
If I didn't know Russert was biased, I'd think he was just stupid.
Good work.
Now if only Fair and Balanced Fox can pick this up...
Rush even says nice things about Russert. IMO Russert is such an obvious Democrat suck-up if not an out-and-out Democrat operative doing their dirty work, he is not any more worth watching than the other fat boy, the one with no ratings on the PMSNBC cable network, whose name is not even worth repeating, whose initials are C.M.

Mediawhore
Maybe he's biased AND stupid! Does he think that he is the only one in the world w/ access to videotape and transcripts?
Repeat the lie over and over and over until it becomes the truth. People STILL don't understand the "mission accomplished" thing. That was "mission accomplished" for the USS Lincoln, NOT THE WAR! But the media lied about it enough, misrepresented it enough, so there ya are! HOW do we fight back???
I wonder what Rush will say about this episode.
