Russert is doing pretty good job exposing Dean.
He hammered away on the point that the Democrats have no real plans. Despite Russert's repeated questions, Dean refused to offer any alternatives to the Republicans policies. It boiled down to Question: What do the Democrats stand for? Answer: We will tell you next year.
Question: What is the Democrats position on the War in Iraq? Answer: Bush lied, people died.
Note: The viewer was never informed or Dean challenged on why he ducked a joint appearance.
I think Meet the Press today was a perfect illustration (poster child for) of the intellectual bankruptcy of the Democratic Party.
1. Refusal to debate the other side
2. Refusal to offer any alternatives
3. Admitting that their current plan is to simply oppose the Republicans
4. Defining morality as how much government spending on welfare you support.
Russert is a long time Democratic Party activist and hack. Why anyone here watches him or expects him to be otherwise confounds me.
I was amazed that they put Howard Dean into the DNC position to begin with. Now I see, Hillary steps in as the "moderate" to oust the crazy liberal wing of the DNC.
Geeze, I wish I could remember what it was. I thought it was funny but do not remember what it contained that I thought was funny but the moderator didn't. Wish I did.
Appearing second...that's the whole reason he wouldn't go on head to head ...he knew that Mehlman would be able to challenge his arguemnts...the only good thing is that Dean continues to come off like a whiner with no agenda other than hate Bush...while Ken comes off as a professional.
ROTF!! Thanks for the ping. That's a hoot :)
I think the rats are going to keep dean until election 06 results are in. When he fails to raise enough cash and they lost more seats in the senate and house...he'll be frogmarched out of the dnc.
