When the history books are written many years from now on the Impeachment of GWB, Cheney, and Rumsfeld, they will have an entire chapter on the influence of the MSM and how they were able to get the "TRUTH" out to the masses, who then called on their Congressmen to take out the Bush Admin.
Either that or the obituary for Old Media. Conservatives realize we are not alone anymore. From my college years forward, everything I was subjected to leaned to the left. There were times I wondered if "I" was the only one thinking conservative thoughts or supporting conservative solutions to issues. Except for a few magazines there was no outlet I could turn to that would support my beliefs. (I remember debating whether Time or Newsweek was better because it was more conservative.)
I doubt anyone ten or fifteen years ago thought the influence of New Media, including blogs, talk radio and the emerging conservative press would have the impact it has today. Liberal radio is failing, except for a few local talk shows, newspapers around the country are losing revenue from subscribers and advertisers, union and Democrat phone networking and personal pressuring is not as effective as it once was. Even in book publishing, conservative political books are outselling liberal books by a large majority.
FOX News began as "fair and balanced" and was immediately labeled conservative because it dared to air conservative viewpoints in a fair manner. FOX never claimed to be conservative but they didn't have a reason to counter the claim too strongly because their ratings skyrocketed. Conservatives were starved for a place to get news that wasn't so totally biased and one sided.
You may still be right in the return of Old Media, but I hope not.
