The police should just bring marshmallows to the car-b-ques, and enjoy themselves; instead of being abused for trying to do their job.

Those urbane Frenchy-French are maintaining serenity. I did not realize the past couple of weeks had been serene.
Chirac dealing with this is what we need to watch. Will he be successful or will someone be voted off of the island?
I'm sure (I hope) we have contingency plans should this happen widespread in the US or other European countries besides France. President Bush really needs to speak to world leaders and reemphasize that 'you are with us or you are with the terrorists.'
I imagine Chirac regrets his previous checker move to Pres. Bush's chess move.
It is not too late, M. Chirac. Join in the war on world terrorism, but if it looks like you are going to screw us one more time, I don't EVEN want to know the consequences that will be considered!

How to break Chirac: the whole police force walks off the job for a couple days. No police at all will make the Worm think twice.

We are used to dealing with urban violence and we have kept our serenity. Chirac serene as Paris burns.

"102 juveniles have received custodial sentences."
Maybe the "custodians" need to be sentanced too for not controlling their kids. Oh wait, the kids are doing what they are taught to do at the mosque. Nevermind.

Time for those gendarmes to go to Las Vegas for a little R&R, and leave Chirac to figure out how else he might address this. I'd be furious, too. Such a jackass.

Quietly reassign them -- to the PD next door.

It's the Frenchest thing - Chirac didn't even come out of hiding until the riots had been going on for over a week, and ever since he has, he's done nothing but make the situation worse. He couldn't wait to get his mug all over the media to gloat about the aftermath of Katrina.
Personally I almost hope the cops just walk off the job and let the Muslims have their way. The French government, and the French people, have shown they're not worthy of any protection at all. They deserve nothing more than to be put to the sword and/or the burqa for the craven, sniveling cowards they are.

Officers at the forefront of attempts to control the wave of riots and arson attacks across France are furious at moves to prosecute policemen accused of assaulting a youth. As officers were deployed in force in Paris yesterday following a call on weblogs for a mass demonstration, the police union described the jailing of one officer and the suspension of others as "incomprehensible and unacceptable".
Islam is a Religion of Peace; the rioters (contrary to peacemakers, are just disgruntled "youth" (a/k/a Muslims) and it's their molotov cocktail throwing isn't their fault....the devil made them do it.

Police officers, who have been targeted with stones, missiles and Molotov cocktails since the trouble broke out, said they were "stupefied" by the action taken against their colleagues. We should offer all of these officers and their families U.S. visas and positions with U.S. police departments.

Typical of today's so called 'leadership' they turn on their own. Just wait until it hits the fan here, our 'leadership' will turn on American's who attempt to defend themselves, their families and their property so fast it will make one's head swim. The present Western 'leadership' is sick!

So about 25% are adults? I thought it was about the youth rioting because they don't have jobs (which they are probably too young to have anyway).
To: blam
Old Chirac sat on his hands for days when this started, but the moment a mosque was attacked, he was quick to denounce and threaten those who attacked the mosque.
I suspect old Chirac, like Charles Windsor, may be a closet muzzie. Is anybody else of this opinion?
