Somehow I thought you might like this one. Only read a bit, I'll check it out later. I'm getting absolutely disgusted with professional politicians. Always have been with Ds, now my faith in Rs isn't much better. IMO we need ordinary citizens getting elected. People like you and me!

I didn't write this article and how dare you comment on my patriotism.

I thought there were adults here who would comment on the slanted article.

No we disagree with most of it.

As do I.

For the tenth or so time I DIDN'T WRITE THE ARTICLE. YOU WERE TO READ AND COMMENT NOT BELITTLE THE POSTER!

The writer states the obvious: no WMD was ever found nor is there any evidence that it was evacuated to Syria or other places. Any connection to Al-Qaeda is extremely tenuous until well after our successful invasion.

Having accepted the obvious, the disposition of Iraq still remains. And there are no terribly happy answers there. It's unlikely we can plant a democracy and leave. We will either spend decades there and far more lives than we lost on 9/11 or we will pull out and see a country that slides back into the usual brutal dictatorial regime that has always prevailed in the Mideast outside of Lebanon/Jordan and the Gulf States.

While we have some undeniable and sometimes surprising progress in Iraq, we have a long way to go before we can even rely on the Iraqis to police the country day to day.

Naturally, stating the facts does annoy some people who prefer fanciful press releases and flowery speeches.

You were the cat that dragged in the dead rat.
A patriot of any stripe would have known better than to spread stuff that stinks like that.
The day after Veterans Day.

Show us where patriots aid and abet seditionists.

>>>I didn't write the article.<<<

My dear Ferdie, I never said you did. My response was based on some kook left-wing conspiracy theory statements in the article, and your failure to so much as make a hint in opposition. Frankly, that was questionable judgement for a newcomer, and made me question your motives.

>>>I know all the additional facts of which you speak. I believe there were some serious weaponry that was buried and was whisked out of the country...How could I believe otherwise when I knew that other rogue nations were dealing with Saddam Insane?...There's dotted lines all over the place....And take my word for it.....I have a whole brain which functions very well.<<<

Your brain just needed a good kickstart. I see you are coming around.

Frankly anyone who claims that WMD's in Iraq is a myth, like the gentleman from the Sierra Times, has about as much credibility as Joe Wilson (and that amounts to Zero). I, personally, would have blasted his lunatic statements from the get-go. But, of course, I am not you.

It would not surprise me to see the Democrats attempt to foment and sponsor a "conservative" third party in 2008. Maybe you and Mr. Lebootieliar are the vanguard of that effort. But the net effect of such an effort (were it successful) would be to put Hillary Clinton in the White House. If you don't know that, then you're criminally naive.

The poster's comments are dumb and stupid and ought to be belittled. They lack education, insight, historical perspective and actual contemporary facts-on-the-ground and among the people of Iraq (as opposed to the terrorists who the media makes out to be modern day Robin Hoods, when they, are, as the Iraqi's know them, no more than thugs, as was Sadaam).

I personally had a reason to reflect on Veteran's Day. I am a patriot. Where did you serve?

Personal reasons are no excuse for malicious activity.
Saying you are a patriot is childish. You are a patriot in your heart and your deeds.
We also serve who only sit and wait.
Feedback and pushback such as you have just recieved may stand you well and guide you to mature judgement in this gift we ordinarily describe as life.
