This article is utter tripe.
- Santorum DID NOT take a swing at President Bush
- Santorum DID NOT say that some blame for that lies with the White House
- Santorum DID NOT say the unpopularity of the war should be shared between the White House and the media.
What Santorum DID SAY was this...
- “Certainly, mistakes were made, But that’s a criticism you can make of every conflict.”
- Santorum criticized the media for unbalanced reporting on the Iraq war.
- The media only report the death toll, Santorum said.
- Santorum questioned how the public would have felt about World War II if the media had reported only the body count and not news of cities liberated by the Allies.
Now excuse me for reading and comprehending ENGLISH but the words White House and/or Bush are no where to be found in Santorum's comments. And the only direct quotes pertaining to criticism is aimed straight at the
media.
As to the the obscure 'mistakes' and 'criticism' blurbs in prosecuting the war, well that could easily be directed at the PENTAGON and or the Commanders in the field.
By this journalist 'standard' (sarcasm) FDR was directly responsible for the screw ups at:

- Wake Island
- Bataan
- Burma
- Operation Torch
- Kasserine Pass
- Anzio
- Battle Of Monte Casino
- D-Day
- Operation Market Garden
- The Battle Of The Bulge
- Not to mention sending our soldiers, sailors and marines into battle under trained and under equipped and in DEATH TRAPS like the LST (Long Slow Target) the Sherman Tank, and the Jeep (no armor, Oh My!).
Think any of that will fly with the leftist media? Naaah.
