New Delhi: The oil deals in which Natwar Singh and the Congress party are allegedly "non-contractual beneficiaries" could have direct and indirect links with Marc Rich, an American fugitive who faced a potential 300 years in prison.

Marc Rich was most controversially pardoned by President Bill Clinton in 2001.

According to the Volcker report, the contracting party in both contracts (M/09/54 in the case of Natwar Singh and M/10/57 in the case of Congress party) was Masefield AG, an oil trading company based in Zug, Switzerland. The Masefield Group's website merely says that it privately-owned and based in Zug, but a Business Week report in July this year identified it as one of the many companies owned by people closely associated with Marc Rich.

Re #1

I am surprised that they are all entangled together so wide-and-far. Not that they are not capable, but they can band all together in such a grand fashion.:)

My Guess is that Sandy Berger removed the notes that implicated Clinton in the Oil For Food scandal from the national archives...

Has Clinton (either) been asked one single question by MSM? Hey MSM...the bent one and the beast are together in Israel, here's your chance to ask about Marc Rich.

Masefield AG has a British board of directors. It also has an office in Houston, Texas. Who runs it? The indicted Oscar Wyatt?

Remember which lawyer represented Marc Rich's interests to BJ Clinton? I believe his name was Scooter.

Volcker report is only meant to look for scapegoats in countries that "opposed" the war against Iraq.

Any account of how many American companies and high-level American politicians involved?
