KPIX 5 in San Francisco just ran this story as their 11:00PM lead .

Coit Tower, a tribute to SF firefighters from the 1906 earthquake, is supposedly in the shape of a fire hose nozzle.

".....city’s proposition discouraging public schools from allowing military recruiters on campus.

Yeah because they are preying on poor unfortunates. Ok so Uncle Sam is too evil to be allowed on campus but every other entity fishing for hapless dolts are welcome?

Perhaps instead of blasting the place, he aught to have hosed it?

Poofters like a time to time hosing I'm told.

"Daly says that San Francisco firefighters are livid over O’Reilly’s remarks because Coit Tower was built as a monument to their profession. "To choose that target, given the context of bravery of New firefighters on Sept. 11th, is doubly harsh message from Bill O’Reilly,” Daly said."

Oh!, they're not "livid" over banning recruiters who are members of the military who are avenging the death of NY firefighters by having kicked butt in Afghanistan and who are also killing members of the same terrorist group every day in Iraq. I appreciate their concern about their hunk of concrete and stone, but, if this is truly the attitude of the SF firefighters rank and file (i.e. concerned with their tower, but note defensive of the right of our military to recruit), then they are just as selfish, arrogant, and incredibly self-centered as the city they work in.

Can we fire SF, then Bezerkly, then Hollywierd?

Think how much better off the union would be without these places.

I don't know about all the rants about O'Reilley BUT I do know that SF is about as anti-military/anti-America as they come. . .

San Francisco Shuns Retired USS Iowa

http://www.breitbart.com/news/2005/08/20/D8C3PH0G0.html

Veterans groups and history buffs had hoped that tourists in San Francisco could walk the same teak decks where sailors dodged Japanese machine-gun fire and fired 16-inch guns that helped win battles across the South Pacific.

Instead, it appears that the retired battleship is headed about 80 miles inland, to Stockton, a gritty agricultural port town on the San Joaquin River and home of California's annual asparagus festival.

But city supervisors voted 8-3 last month to oppose taking in the ship, citing local opposition to the Iraq war and the military's stance on gays, among other things.

"If I was going to commit any kind of money in recognition of war, then it should be toward peace, given what our war is in Iraq right now," Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi said.

Get a grip, Chris Daley. Any one who's visited Coit Tower over the past 15 years knows its become a graveyard for used condoms and needles.

On Friday, San Francisco Supervisor Chris Daly told CBS 5 that he is taking action against O’Reilly by introducing a resolution demanding that Fox News executives fire the conservative host.

Why not be brave, Chris Daly, and pass a resolution to clean-up COIT tower and pay it genuine tribute rather than whining and playing adolescent politics.

I am 100% behind O'Reilly on this one.

And the next time there is an earthquake in SF, and there will no doubt be one, let those anti-America granola-heads dig themselves out of it, without help from the National Guard, or any other military group. That city is a festering pustule. The weather stinks, and I'd think twice about using a restroom there, frankly.

I'll go with Oreilly on this one.
I watched Alioto on his show and she is a left wing nut.

If they refuse to let the services recruit in the schools then they get no Federal Funds of any kind.

San Francisco is inhabited with perverted nuts.

[O’Reilly is upset about the city’s proposition discouraging public schools from allowing military recruiters on campus. On his national radio show Tuesday, he said San Francisco should not get a nickel of federal funds.]

You go Bill; I am in aggreement. California is full of shirkers and fascists and has become a haven of fools and liars.
Even Arnold could not help those fools.

San Francisco used to be a beautiful city. I lived there once and often visited. But I don't anymore. The last time I spent a weekend, my daughter and I were constantly harrassed on the streets for spare change, drugs, cigarettes, money for beer. We couldn't walk a single block and be left alone.

I had the feeling that you can't really "live" there, in the sense of going on about your life undisturbed. Of course, the wealthy can isolate themselves from the street. For the rest of us, it's a big social experiment where your behavior is constantly tested.

Good luck SF. With Big Brother watching over you, you're gonna need it.

It's un-American." NO, what's unamerican is prohibiting freedom of speech, because that is what this proposition does. They are limiting the military's freedom to speak on behalf of their organization. SF is a bunch of liberal freaks.

He says that people just have concerns about what he calls predatory recruiting.

Predatory recruiting? Perhaps Newsom has the military confused with the Gay lobby in SF.

“To green light terrorist attacks and violence shows a lot of hate, not a lot of humanity. It's un-American."

The people of SF just gave the green light to terrorists by limiting self defense.

I happened to catch this particular rant on O'R's radio show last week.
He was on fire and passionately pro military.
Good for him.
We all know that after the next earthquake, San Francisco will be whining for the National Guard.
And of course criticizing them for not being on scene within nano seconds and eye rolling because everyone knows you don't wear black combat boots with greenish brown ensembles.
Especially after Labor Day.

I strongly urge San Francisco officials to beware of using the term "predatory" to describe anyone else...

Screw SF, the liberals in that city talk trash 24/7 and do everything they can to turn America on its head. If they're so offended maybe they should take a loooooong look in the mirror and see if they like what they find.

It doesn't get much worse than SF politically.

Mayor Gavin Newsom says the proposition does not mean that people in San Francisco are Anti-military. He says that people just have concerns about what he calls predatory recruiting.

Yeah right.
