My response (in retrospect) does seem to be a bit harsh, my apologies.
If we don't start producing more we don't get to have a say, so the only way that we wean ourselves off of dependency is to produce, even if it goes somewhere else, we will have the trade and the infrastructure in place.
I just wish we could slap the enviro weanies down, let them ride bicycles and live in mud huts, I have better things to do.

TO CORRECT THE RECORD: I said the San Jose Mercury News did not run either of my letters-to-the-editor (the ones in the thread). Well, yesterday I had called them to complain about both my letters being blocked. Today's SJ Mercury News contains the November letter, so one of my letters did make it. I wanted to correct the record because when the MSM gets one right, I'll give them credit.
