Maybe the military info relates to Alan ARKIN, not Alan Alda. People often make the mistake. . .

I agree, I know some people that were in real MASH units in the Korean War. They hated "MASH". I can't picture him in a real uniform.

Supposedly he did a six month stint in the military in the 50's, I think....
..but I've never known him to publicly support it or show patriotic leanings or affirmations.
He's known as a staunch feminist....whatever that means to a guy.
I've always thought him very liberal.
