Alan Alda was a combat officer with the Army while fighting in the Korean War.

He was born on 28 January 1936. That would have made him 17 years old the year the Korean War ended. He suffered from bad case of Polio as a young child. At its worst point he was only able to move his left arm. I really doubt he saw duty in Korea, never mind being an officer.

your tagline is one of Patton's famous quotes - which I am guessing you are aware of that fact. I have it on my profile page in my patton "section"... great guy. wouldn't you have liked to have seen patton commanding a group of actors!
