Gee, 12 zillion cars torched..schools and churches burned to the ground...and unequiped, untrained, unsupported police using "tu" instead of "vou" is fretted over?

Can't help but think of the scene from Holy Grail with the French castle guards:

"I fart in your general direction."

"Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberry!"

I keep wondering when the French Foreign Legion will be brought in to clean things up! If the jihadstinians think the anit-riot police are "racist" or "disrespectful", they ain't seen nothing yet!

It did illustrate the wall of incomprehension that separates the white French police from the inhabitants of the sprawling estates whose young men have gone on the rampage.

This reporter wants the police to comprehend the rioters. If it were my country I would want the police to shoot first to protect people and property. If you "comprehend" the enemy that is the first step in negotiating with them. In the case of the French negotiations end with only one possible result--capitulation.

So, the reporter's agenda is now clear.

A quiet night in France...

I'd hate to be there on a bad night.

They have special riot police in Paris, they are big, mean, dumb, thugs, they should be perfect. As far as tu and vous, that just bs. When I first was learning to speak french one of my first phrases was un Pastis se vous ple,(a Pastis if you please) my brother in law said, anyone ordering Pastis would not say vous or please

Thousands of cars and personal property burned to the ground and the medias focuses on a policeman using "tu" rather than "vou".

Oh the humanity!!!! Send him to the Hague!

THIS is an extract of a verbal exchange between police and estate teenagers near Lyons, shown on the TF1 television channel. First a boy addresses a police officer who has demanded the boy’s papers in rough terms — using the disrespectful “tu” instead of a formal “vous” — and told him to “shut your face”

Me thinks this was a set-up. Interesting that it was all caught on film, and that the "youth" was very polite.

First boy: “You (Vous) tell us to ‘shut your face’ and we haven’t done anything, Monsieur”

Policeman: “You want me to take you into an electricity sub-station?” (where two teenagers were electrocuted)

First boy: “Sorry Monsieur, you are being rude and I haven’t spoken to you, M’sieur”

Policeman: “In that case don’t talk. We’re telling you to get back, so get back”

First boy: “Listen Monsieur, we are using ‘vous’ with you but you and your colleague are using ‘tu’ with us. We are respectful . . .”

This reads like bad Sartre. Keep going for another one hundred pages and it could win a Pulitzer; When Frogs Bicker, a new novel by Monsieur Le Rube.
