President Bush is making a speech at noon. Fox is reporting he will address the criticism aimed at him by the democrats in the past two weeks.
Mod note: Click here for transcript thread.
My thoughts exactly. I think that one will always stand alone as his best. I still get chills when I read the transcript (which is still on the WH website), and I want to kick the arses of our enemies...foreign...AND DOMESTIC.
Maybe Tony didn't think he should attack "democrats". But somehow, once again, Bush managed to attack his critics without using their names, or the word "Democrat".
They'll of course scream anyway that he was personally attacking them, because he was. But I wish at some point he'd come out and say it directly. Each time he calls one out by name, the press would HAVE to report it -- and then ask the specifically named democrat to respond. And how could they respond? "I was ignorant?" "I lied about reading the intelligence" "I was just trying to get re-elected" "I didn't know that things would turn out so bad"?
If we are going down in 2006, let's do it defending the truth. Lets speak the truth. Let's get our congresspeople to speak the truth.
How do we get the message out. How to we, here at FR, help get the message out?
I KNOW every muslim isn't evil, I KNOW we're working with some great Iraqis and these Jordanians in the streets are awesome, and there are plenty in Lebanon not to mention our great allies in Afghanistan. But the overwhelming pitch of the axis of evil make it impossible to hear the good ones over the bansheelike screaming of the demonic devil dogs in the dirty nightshirts.
You know the msm won't show Bush slamming the dems if they can possibly help it. They're behavior is despicable. You have to wonder if there's anything they care about and would fight for except a dem return to power.
Hopefully, Fox will have the transcript up soon. We're getting ready to head out to a local Vet Day parade. Happy Birthday and Semper Fi
The angrier they are the better.
"I'm glad someone gets it. He was never gone."
He was never gone with the more than 60 million of us who voted for him. The Mary Mapes/MD4BUSH's on FR pretending to be great conservatives moan all the time about him leaving them. The truth is they were never with GW or those of us who voted for him.
BUMP AT POST 444
It was a good speech. I hope it portends more movement in the direction of taking on the overt state sponsors of terrorism.
I've got a Marine, who was in Fallujah last Christmas, sitting here and he LOVED that this speech was on Veteran's Day!!
MSM tonight "Today the president finally addressed the accusations that he falsified data and manipulated us into the War in Iraq. With his back against the wall and his poll numbers dropping he did not go far enough to .......blah, blah, blah..........
Sorry...I meant 468. My bad.
Long live the difference!!
I think he's back on message, at least for now.
And since I can no longer stand to listen to Bill Hemmer say, "The administration is attempting to write its own history......." I have switched off Fox news analysis of the speech. Too bad it's Friday and Brit Hume won't be on tonight.
Fox News channel is losing my viewing time more and more, as I'm switching it to the music channels.
Why are you torturing yourself?
Go back to Pat, he must be your hero.
Do you honestly believe that if he'd given the speech in December or January that it would have been taken for campaign rhetoric?
Do you honestly believe that it's a good thing that support for the war is at an all time low? That military morale is low?
I am in a military family, my stepson was in Iraq and he has friends there still. We all know what's happening to those poor guys and what they are hearing on the news. It's a disgrace that Republicans and this administration has let those lies stand.
What excuse is there for that?
I'm DELIGHTED that he's fighting back. And disappointed he let it go on so long.
It's hard to fight a war on multiple fronts. Today Bush started fighting back on the home front.
beautiful
Huh?! I can't stand Buchanan.
