Republican disarray on Capitol Hill reached self-ramming speed yesterday, as both the House and the Senate abandoned key policy priorities as they tried to pass a budget. Hide the children because this is getting ugly.
In the Senate, Maine's Olympia Snowe helped to scuttle even a single-year extension of the current 15% tax rate on dividends and capital gains that is due to expire in 2008. Senate Finance Chairman Chuck Grassley was thus forced to postpone a committee vote on extending a tax cut that has been crucial to an economic rebound that since mid-2003 has been marked by 10-straight quarters of nearly 4% average growth. Tell us again why Republicans need 55 Senators?

Running scared.
Sue Kelly is a disgusting piece of kitty litter. She was elected as part of the "Contract with America" in which she promised to serve only four terms. Now she thinks she's some sort of royalty with a lifetime appointment. THROW THE BUMS OUT!!!
My God - they are almost all on the ast coast...
Pathetic indeed.
If only TX, LA, and MS could stop all oil pipelines delivering heating oil and gasoline to the states of these RINOs! It would be justice to see them freezing in the dark.
These low life scum are the reasons that many loyal conservatives get disgusted with the whole process. After much reflection, alcohol, bitch'en and moan'en and thought about the other side, we get back into the game, work and donate and repeat the process yet again. As Churchill said, "Democracy is a terrible form of government, but it's the best one that we have". {or words to that effect}
So, was Barry Goldwater right?
Barry Goldwater? From Arizona...
I'm a refugee from Connecticut. We moved to Illinois (not red, of course, but good folks outside greater Chicago) shortly after I ran for CT State Senate. I was amazed how high the RINO population was even among the local candidates. It rarely even helped them win elections!
All three Republican house members voted wrong on this.
Much as I do not care for the likes of Murkowski (sp?) and Stevens, it seems to me that their votes are the ones that should count. I wonder how Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York would like it if they were required to have the same land use imposed by the Feds on Alaska. In fact, I know of a nice piece o coastline in New London, that could be seized for this purpose. It wouldn't generate any revenue, mind you, but we only have one planet. WE MUST SAVE SPACESHIP EARTH!!!!!!!!
ast coast???
Off to the coffee pot for you. You neat to get that other eye open. :-)
But I do agree with you. Mostly N/E with a few from the Mid-west Northern states. A S/Eer here and there.
I'm on my way also (neat vs nead)
Carolyn
I think the liberal RINOs AREN'T running scared..I think they feel emboldened by the news media who is saying that Bush is down and the liberals are up because NJ and VA elected Dems. Of course, NJ was a given...they'd elect a criminal if he were a democrat..oops..they already did that.
The logic behind the DeLay indictment seems obvious.
Illinois might be the worst example of he GOP that you could use.
And make the bum below Speaker? No thanks.
What they need is to bring Tom Delay back.
They bow to a new master, john mccain and are bank rolled by george soros.
I hope the Delay indictment gets thrown out soon..I know he's doing his best to get it tossed...But you're right ... the Dems' fraudulent charges got rid of a very effective leader...Ronnie Earles is going to go down in flames, but he took one for the Democratic team.
Very disappointed in Sensenbrenner on this. Ugh.
