Your wish to believe is admirable though misguided. And given more time, even you may come to understand Hugh Hewitt.

I understand Hugh having met him in person on two occasions. He didn't just say hello and move on to someone else. On both occasions we had a chance to talk for more than 10 to 15 minutes each time. Hugh Hewitt is an awe-inspiring 'Great American' as Sean Hannity would say.

One thing that I most like about Hugh is that he promotes freedom & liberty on his show each day. How many talk show hosts will be a person on the air to mention their blog site where they are participating in their own freedom of expression. Hugh even remembers callers by their voice and he almost always offers them a chance to promote their site. Try mentioning your site on another talk show, whether nationally syndicated or local.

Bill Clinton has the ability to charm people as well. Makes them feel like they are important and the center of his attention. It's a valuable ability for a politician and I don't doubt that you were suitably impressed.

The disagreements between Hewitt and California conservatives developed over a much longer time than a couple of years. He has often been absent or opposed to our issues and candidates, especially when the RNC has been on the other side. He's a reliable party man for the GOP.
