"The best stuff happens just before the thread snaps." That is also true of sailing. It sticks in the back of my mind when I'm on a screaming reach that the illegal amount of fun I'm having is going to end when a sheet or halyard blows.LOL You're right! It can apply to so many things (including some threads here on FR!).

The picture in your profile of; Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks, Banff National Park, looks a lot like Glacier National Park in Montana, amazingly beautiful
And where did you get the picture of MY cowboy in his duster?! LOL

... The tagline is the last part of a line from a show called "Slings and Arrows", which begins, "Many of you are under the impression that my reason is hanging by a thread. I'm here to tell you that the best stuff happens just before the thread snaps."
...
It takes that additional second of thought for one to realize the actual tension device/weapon in the Sword of Damocles is the thread, not the sword.

Most folks don't realize how deadly Lake Superior is. There are a LOT of shipwwrecks on it.
Any body of water can turn deadly whether by human error, whim of nature or act of God.
