Why has Santorum suddenly become so unpopular in Pennslyvania?
Rick Santorum is NOT unpopular in PA. Casey's seminar posters--pimply-faced adolescent Dem students--are flooding the net today with this bushwa.

Beuase he supported Spectre when asked to do so by President Bush in 2004. He's no longer 'perfect' and is therefore despised by PA 'true' conservatives.
its not that santorum is that unpopular, its that casey jr is very popular. if he would have ran against specter, he would have beaten him by 10 points. people associate him with his father and think hes the same type of guy. make no mistake, bob casey jr is not his dad.
I think it's because he's made himself too controversial. That turns people off.
He's become known for statements including one comparing homosexuality to to incest, comparing Dems to Hitler in the Senate and later apologizing for it....being very outspoken about his anti-abortion views, getting personally involved in the Schiavo case etc etc.
It seems that his conservative good-guy image has been replaced with that of a zealot.
