Riley said he intended to take action weekly on officers found to be AWOL ...

Is there any logic in this? The Hurricane struck on August 29th ... nearly 3 months ago. How many weeks will it take them to determine which of their officers were AWOL? Why not fire them all at once ... like 2 months ago?

What's going on here? Are they going to fire them just as soon as they invent them?

Even their incompetence begins to reek of fraud ...

What's going on here is that some genius in the City human resources department forgot to keep a record on which officers were real and which were nonexistent officers put on the payroll to get federal money.

That being the case, they're having to investigate each employee to see if s/he exists . . . oh what a tangled web we weave, etc. etc.
