Democrats Ask Whether Chalabi, In U.S., Will Face FBI Questions By SCOT J. PALTROW Staff Reporter of THE WALL STREET JOURNAL November 10, 2005; Page B3
Three Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats demanded that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales answer questions both about Iraqi politician Ahmad Chalabi's current visit to top Bush administration officials and about why a criminal investigation into his possible role in leaking U.S. secrets to Iran appears to have languished.
Mr. Chalabi, now a deputy prime minister in Iraq with authority over its oil resources, arrived in Washington Tuesday on his first visit to the U.S. in more than two years. He began a series of meetings with officials including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Vice President Dick Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Treasury Secretary John Snow.
In a letter faxed to Mr. Gonzales, Patrick Leahy, the senior Democrat on the committee, and Sens. Edward Kennedy and Richard Durbin asked the attorney general to divulge the status of the criminal investigation. They asked whether the Federal Bureau of Investigation will interview Mr. Chalabi during his visit and whether these high-level meetings might compromise the probe.

Well, liberal rhetoric sounds terribly flowery and kind. What liberals actually *do*, on the other hand, belies anything they talk about.
The only people liberals welcome with open arms are corrupt dictators and socialist fellow travellers. Democracy bores them.
