From another source: "'It is formally forbidden to any Muslim seeking divine grace and satisfaction to participate in any action that blindly hits private or public property or could constitute an attack on someone's life,' the UOIF [Union of French Islamic Organisations] fatwa said."
I heard Robert Spencer (Jihad Watch) question the use of "blindly," does it suggest that focused attacks that destroyed property and lives would be okay? he wondered.
Sounds picky but I too wonder at Muslim spokesmen's criticism of violence. The word "innocents" for example. Attacks against "innocents" are not allowed some say. But are people who are not followers of a particular Muslim leader "innocents?" There is no central authority in the Islam "church," I believe.
And I think it was Mr. Spencer who offered a little information about integration into French society. It was never intended to happen per the requests of the original "cheap labor" migrants and their source countries.
So "racism" is not the lack of integration but instead the lack of Muslims to be prmitted to have a country within a country complete with their own culture and laws. Perhaps.
Most of these "fatwas" have no credibility with the Islamo-facists who are causing this problem. The terrorists view these moderate clerics as sell-outs, non-Muslim, etc. The Muslims in these communities are not represented because they choose not to be; they don't want to assimilate. They want their communities to be separated and with as little government influence as possible. They set up sharia law and the honor killings are probably not uncommon. I have seen references of the areas where the violence/burning is prevalent as the "occupied territiories". The French government has allowed the influx of thousands of Muslims into these coomunities and not questioned the fact the welfare rolls keep increasing. The one article even said that the police killed the teeneagers who brilliantly decided to hide in an electrical substation and were summarily electrocuted -- go figure. Unless the French crack down and crack down hard this scratch is likely to fester into a systemic infection. May be too late to treat already..
