This is absolutely sick. Almost unbelievable. I don't want to stop supporting republicans, but this is seriously making me consider it. There is no basis for this, it's a tiny minority, we need the energy. Absolutely deplorable.

Add a RIDER to make all heating fuel users to convert to solar, wood or electricity. Excellent idea.

Perhaps...but that isn't likely.

These same RINOs will turn on a dime when Hillary is elected and asks Congress to approve drilling in Alaska to give her an economic bump.

All I know is this, we won the election in last years election, but, ever since then they have been squandering golden opportunities that were handed to them on a silver platter to effectively put the Liberals/Democrats down, but, have shown they have no will or spirit to fight the Democrats/Liberals/MSM minority.
Just like on the HISTORY CHANNEL or the MILITARY CHANNEL , on some of those shows you see on " Military Blunders " ... well ? this is G.O.P Congress Golden Opportunity blunders.
It looks like we are going to have to carry the water ONCE AGAIN for them in next years election to get anything done RIGH that we want done.

I hope the GOP enjoys their soon-to-be-minority status in both Houses of Congress next year. It's well-deserved.
And while I'm on the subject, I'm not going to let these spineless RINO clowns hold me hostage with the threat of "We can do anything we want, and you'll still vote for us, because you don't want the other guys to get in, now do you?"
If these losers don't start doing the job we sent them to do, they've lost my vote, and it'll be THEIR own damn fault. We'll see how THEY like the sound of "Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid" and "Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi."
The ball is now in the GOP's court--let them shape up or get the hell out.

Can it be put back in with a reconciliation package with the Senate bill? Yeah - but then it comes around for a vote again.

This means it will go to a House-Senate committee for further negotiations.

re: They can easily find the money for this project then.
It's not a matter of money. The drilling provision was attached to the budget bill as an amendment. All sorts of things totally unrelated to budget stuff gets attached to the budget bill because lawmakers know it has to be passed sooner or later and when it passes the amendments do too.
It's one of my major complaints with the system. The rule should be that an amendment cannot be attached to a bill unless it deals directly and specifically with the subject of the bill. It's impossible to overstate the amount of mischief this approach to getting pet bills passed has brought about over the years.

"he has no clout with these Republicans."
And probably more to come. Like the rioters in France, when the thugs sense a weakness they do what they want. Bush let this go and caved to the liberals and RINO's. It will be about all he can do to get Sam Alito confirmed but that will be about all. Lets hope that our next republican presidential nominee at least has a pulse before we vote him/her into office.

I would propose that the GOP bashing be reserved for those 15 or so Republicans in the House who are declining to support the leadership and the great majority of the party. Also, Senator Domenici of New Mexico says he fully intends to get the provision back into the bill at conference. Then the House vote on the conference bill will be the time to twist arms, and I'm sure the Hammer will be willing to help.

Major Garrett on Fox said yesterday that the GOP members that are against the drilling in ANWR said that if it is put back in...they won't vote for the spending cuts....
Besides...why should we drill for oil....when Congress will just haul the oil companies in front of a hearing and berate them for making any profits...
