"We usually stay with friends in Duck when we get to the Outer Banks."
Everything from Southern Shores to Corolla is beautiful. My wife's parents lived on Duck Woods in Southern Shores many years ago. I fished the surf around sixth street a lot. We watched Duck grow from the time it only had "Wee Winks" store up until now. It has been a great ride.
We considered relocating to the Outer Banks before we decided to sell down there.

Churchill was also a drunk...so what.
He got things done.
There are plenty of great drunks & I for one am tired of the term "Drunk" being used in a derogatory manner. I am a PROUD DRUNK DAMMIT! Bottoms Up!

Drunk or Sober is irrelevant.
W.C. Fields half-drunk was funnier than 99 percent of comics stone sober.
If you do your job or function in society while drunk, more power to you.

Well, maybe not a drunk, but he did enjoy the drink quite often. Apparently he won a bet by going an entire year without booze. It would have to be a big bet for me to try that feat!

It looks like a great surf for some stripers. This is the right time of the year.

My favorite quotes:
"(Ethical dilemma: Would you write a book to set the record straight on Joseph McCarthy knowing that it might give rise to yet another lame George Clooney movie?)"
No problem--the guilty party is the one making the GC movie.
"It was an act of sheer madness, like, say, putting a member of al-Qaida at the Pentagon today or putting Pat Leahy on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Oh wait ..."
And who put PL on the Senate Judiciary? Hmmmm?
And the required photo of our bombastic polemicist:
That's Ann and her mother.

That's a nice pic of Ann and her mom!
Who did put Leahy on Judiciary? Was it Daschle?

So, it may be about time to revive the HUAC. I am very sick of treason, disrespect and disloyalt The left already has, only it now stands for "House of UnAmerican Activity."

"Putting aside all the chit chat, McCarthy was a reckless, demagogic drunk, whose incompetence and ineptness with the facts, and penchant for overstatement, was the ultimate elixir for the Left...."
Being a "reckless, demagogic drunk, whose incompetence and ineptness with the facts, and penchant for overstatement" ever hurt a Kennedy.
