Can you sacrifice an evening to honor the much greater sacrifice that the troops are making for our freedom?
FReepers will continue FReeping the Code Pinkos every Friday night until they stop their obscene blood dance outside the hospital of our war-wounded. If you agree with me that it is outrageous for Code Pinkos to demonstrate at a hospital with war-wounded troops inside, please come out and join us in a peaceful counter-protest.
One of the amputees told me months ago that he doesn't want other wounded troops coming into Walter Reed and seeing only the Code Pinkos at the gates. He explained that the FReeper presence there was extremely important to counter the Pinkos. Please join us and be a part of our peaceful counter-protest to Code Pink.
Please don't let the troops think that regular Americans are too busy with TV, ballgames, movies and other recreation to peacefully counter America-hating leftists.
Being there with us in spirit is great, but we need people to hold the MOAB (Mother of all banners), other signs, and flags. Maybe you can't come every week, but please make it your patriotic duty to join us at least once in the near future.
As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect.
Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7200 Georgia Ave., at Elder St., NW
Code Pinkos have been setting up on the southwest corner of the Georgia Ave/Elder St intersection. We've been setting up on the northeast corner across the street from Walter Reed's entrance gate. Now, their permit purportedly covers both corners on the west side of the street.
On street parking is usually easy to find. The location is about 6 or 7 blocks from Takoma metro station and is walkable, but it is best if you get a ride from the station. If you want a ride, FReepmail me with your cell phone number or, if you have no cell phone, your ride request, ASAP, but at least by 2 pm Eastern time on the day of the FReep. The earlier the better, especially if you don't have a cell phone.
FReepmail me to get on or off the list.
Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink.
Please come out this Friday for Veterans' Day and honor our wounded veterans now at Walter Reed.
Some Q and A here:
Q: Will I be attacked by leftists?A: Quite unlikely, that there will be a serious problem. There is great security, both in our numbers, frequent police patrols, and the nearby guards at Walter Reed. The leftists are almost always across a 6 lane busy road, separating us from them.
Q: Is there a chance that I'll be arrested?
A: We've never had anyone arrested in 7 years. Behave properly, follow our rules, and you won't be arrested.
If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" was one of their signs) demonstrations at the hospital.
Our troops are bold enough to face bullets, mortars, IEDs, and suicide bombers. Are you bold enough to get out from behind the keyboard, FReep in person, and stand up for the wounded troops at Walter Reed?
If you're in the DC area and don't have family or work considerations that keep you from FReeping, can you spare a few hours on a Friday night? Will you?
Disclaimer (as inspired by a suggestion of BufordP, but language is mine): If anyone on this thread refers to some FReepers not doing enough for the troops and just sitting at home on their keyboards, but you are doing something else for the troops, then the comments are not directed at you. Please don't respond defensively. Just keep helping the troops in your own way. Come out to join us if you can.
Since that was Murphy speaking in a stressful, imaginary conversation, I'm imagining that her grammar is flawed. :)
You talked about coming out for one of these events some Friday.
How about this Friday, Veterans' Day?
Thanks for all you do.
Great report, Bill !
Many thanks to all FReepers and all Rolling Thunder veterans and mates.
Even after a Washington Post article that was between-the-lines favorable to their cause the Sunday directly before this FReep, the lefties were still outnumbered two-to-one, in a city that is 90% liberal. Those are not winning numbers, for sure.
Come on out and have some fun with us this week, FReepers, wherever you may be. We have been fortunate to have FR visitors from California, Texas, Colorado, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arizona, remote parts of southern and western Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey, remote (Red) parts of Maryland, and more.
I'm coming from NJ and planning to be there!
I take it that the Vets from Rolling Thunder did not get a hug from the terrorist supporters.
Most excellent to have a representative from the Garden State. Drive carefully!
Come out to WRAMC this Friday evening, and join the DC Chapter as we say "Thank You!" to our wounded troops, and "Freep You!" to the Code PinkOs and other leftists who are protesting the war at the wrong place.

Most of her for-public-consumption commentary appears to be from imaginary supporters.
No problem, BillF. I am happy to see the photos getting wide play. (Lefties who steal my images, however, are not forgiven.)
BTTT !!
See you there!
Buford a "diplomat", okay now I'm laughing.
On our side, there were hugs and handshakes and "Welcome Home" salutes from us to RT folks, and from RT folks to our newest generation of returning soldiers. The RT folks were very supportive of the WRAMC troops who stopped to talk with us nd thank us for being there.
I am still in awe of these humble men and women who thank us for standing on a streetcorner for a few hours a week - when they have done so much more (and given so much more) for us to have that freedom. The men and women in our military are the best of the best.
;-)
