When you say Muslims, I think you mean Islamists.
I don't get into arguments about what faith is superior, and I have seen much evidence of perverted Islam. Then again, I have known some good Muslims. And I am reluctant to tar any group with the same brush. It's just not right.
Now, I am going to teach my kids to use a gun. But I am also going to teach them to respect people. Islam is a religion, that has encouraged a bit more abuse, violence and war than most. At the same time, it has had good periods. And it does have many ethical followers as well. I will not support any group based measures in the current situation. If the situation changes, that's a different matter. But it would have to change a lot. A lot of people gave up their lives to give us the freedoms we enjoy today. We can't throw them away for a fleeting security that may or may not actually result.
And our G-d will protect us, so long as we follow His Laws. We have known tough times before, and we will know them again. But we will come through so long as we remain strong in faith, mind and body. And we can.
Muslims and Islamists are the same. Muslims don't see themselves as one being Muslim and another group being Islamist.
Islam hasn't been perverted. It's still the same as it was in the 7th century and is still be practiced in an Orthodox fashion (called Wahabbism) in Saudia Arabia (which controls at least 80 percent of the mosques in America). Islam is a perversion of Judaism, Christianity, Zoroastrianism, and and I think Hinduism. Muhammed was a thug that raided caravans. He was illiterate. He married 9 year old girls qualifying himself for pedophile. He spoke with a jinn (genie) claiming to be the angel Gabriel in a cave that possessed with the result being an epilectic-like fit to get his revelations. He studied the other religions by listening to other religious people speak their stories and decided to invent his own. He tried to get the rabbis in Medina to recognize him as the last and final prophet of the Jews. They flat rejected him. He went to Mecca and later came back with an army and murdered those Jews for doing that.
Need I say anymore about this cult of death that is at war with America et al?

It's a cult not a religion. Religions promote peace, cult promote death. What good periods have Muslims had?
In all my reading they have been at war since day one with the rest of the world.

Which ones? All the Koran teaches is the spread of Islam at all costs by all means. If they aren't being unethical they aren't being Muslims.
I hope you do teach your child to use a gun. Because when the jihadis come calling to his door he better know how to respond properly to their jihad.

If we don't have the anti-G-d, atheist, secular humanists Socialist/Marxists to keep us from doing what HaShem expects - like defending ourselves effectively, keeping tight borders, spending money responsibily, etc.
One part of our country is going totally Left. The other is gravitating to HaShem (G-d). At some time in the near future there is going to be a breaking point because of how much more Conservative of country is becoming. It is driving the Dems/Socialists/Maxists insane.
