I think your [not me, I know] numbers are crap. But let's pretend they were correct....

I'll post below a couple highlights from an interesting poll done in the British Muslim community after the bombings. Six percent radicals represents a significant number of potential terrorists, but imo the bigger problem, and one which can be dealt with, are the 24% sympathetic and 56% sympathetic. That's what provides the radicals communities in which to operate. A similar UK survey I can’t locate right now came to similar conclusions. Different questions, but as I recall around 8% were supportive of and willing to engage in terrorist operations, an additional 30% indicated they wouldn’t, but wouldn’t cooperate with authorities in apprehending the perpetrators.

88 per cent of British Muslims clearly have no intention of trying to justify the bus and Tube murders.

six per cent insist that the bombings were, on the contrary, fully justified.

respondents who, while not condoning the London attacks, have some sympathy with the feelings and motives of those who carried them out is considerably larger - 24 per cent.

A substantial majority, 56 per cent, say that, whether or not they sympathise with the bombers, they can at least understand why some people might want to behave in this way.

almost three quarters of British Mulsims, 73 per cent, say they would inform the police if they believed that someone they knew or knew of might be planning a terrorist attack.

47 per cent say they would also go to the police if they believed an imam or other religious person was trying to radicalise young Muslims by preaching hatred against the West.

70 per cent of Muslims reckon they have a duty to go to the police if they "see something in the community that makes them feel suspicious".

Very interesting. Six % is troubling, but note that it is not 6% who would do it themselves, thank goodness. I wonder how many of those who would not cooperate with authorities do it out of fear of retribution? It would be interesting to see comparative numbers, for example, in a crime ridden area to see what that percentage is.
