IMO, the map for Prop 73, Parental Notification, is a better judge of conservatism in California (vs. the Prop 76 map you posted--which was not a conservative measure, at all, imo). As you mentioned earlier, had the CA GOP lifted more than their little finger to support that measure, it could have passed.

Unfortunately, the sections that carried Prop 73 are sparsely populated in comparison to those that voted it down.

And I do believe that fiscal conservatism (Prop 76) is a valid barometer, but that's just me I guess.

It's little wonder why so many conservatives stayed home. Their own party doesn't support them...why should they support it?
