Well, I am the Republican County Chair in a small central Texas County (Hamilton County) with 5,436 registered voters. Over the last couple of weeks we have been gearing up for this election. Our County Republican Party here has a computer autodialer and we have really been harassing the voters about this issue. Within the last couple of weeks, our State Representative (Sid Miller), using our autodialer, placed 1,612 calls in support of Prop2. Additionally, today (Election Day) we had one of our most respected community leaders use the autodialer and call 912 Registered voters to urge them that TODAY is the day to pass Prop.2.
Evidently it worked well here. We had a 25.05% turnout which usually, on Constitutional Elections, runs around 10%. Locally, the results were 1,186 (87.02%) For Prop 2 to 176 (12.92) against. The largest Church in our county actually lobbied against the passage of this amendment.
All total, 3 people worked on this project (myself and the 2 voices on the recorder). Although the recording of the message only took about 5 minutes for each message, I spent a total of less than 5 hours TOTAL on this project.
Never let it be said that "Three Irate Old Men" can't make a difference. Especially if they have an autodialer & a couple thousand phone numbers.

Good job, Bill. (I think we may have met at one of the state Executive Committee meetings in Austin?
