"The San Antonio Express-News editorial page recommended voting against Proposition 2. Wonder how our other major newspapers urged their readers to vote?"

I'm from SA and I am not surprised about the Express-News. The Bryan Eagle - where I currently live - also opposed the passage of prop 2.

In addition, so did the Houston Chronicle and I understand the Dallas Morning News all urged defeat of prop 2.

Here in Brazos County the total votes in regard to Prop 2:

For: 12,395

Against: 4,566

Speaking of the Houston Chronicle, they got it wrong again. This morning's paper said that the reason the Proposition was on the ballot was to make it harder for future legislators to change the law. Although that may be part of it, the reason it was put on the ballot was to prevent people from Mass. or elsewhere where it may become legal from suing under the full faith and credit clause. The Chronicle article didn't even mention that.
