Only 39% voted, though. Where were the Republicans?

You got to give them a reason to come out and vote. That's the candidates job. You can have the best GOTV plan in the world but if your candidate doesn't inspire the electorate it's all for naught. Kilgore let Kaine present himself asa commonsense moderate...he's not. Kilgore failed to respond when Kaine complained that he was being persecuted for his faith. Kilgore failed to sign the no new tax pledge. Kilgore failed to respond when Kaine ran ads for the last 2 weeks calling him a liar and pointing out that every major paper in the state was calling him a liar. Unless you're a real party faithful there just wasn't a reason to get out and vote and from the looks of it some of the GOP party faithful felt the same way. We let a real opportunity slip from our fingers.

I don't blame anything on the candidates. We have self government. It's all the fault of the electorate. The GOP got shut out yesterday. In my view, Californians, New Jerseyites, and Virginians have no one to blame but themselves if things go badly.
