These school deaths are just too much...When is the government going to pull it's people out of public education?

....has it become legal in some states to carry concealed handguns in schools?

Not in NC. And you have to be twenty-one (21) years old. The parents should be considered co-conspirators, but, then again, I'm not a lawyer.

Thanks....I am being told that its legal to carry a concealed gun to school in some states.

Personally, that statement sounds like a blanket statement that encompasses even law enforcement....but I would be interested to hear if there is any.

Work really,
I live in the Roane Co. part of Oak Ridge
Doesn't matter really as entire community is impacted

Roane Co. just had it's own tragedy, in the courthouse shooting...

The mother of two of the kids who died in the Rockwood house fire
last week works at my hospital, it's been awful...

That looks like blood on his shirt and he looks proud of himself. How sad. I will never understand it, ever. Just what did he accomplish besides ruining his life and the life of so many?

I don't think that I have ever been angry enough to kill someone or something and I have been pretty darn angry before.

Prayers for all concerned.

The boy, identified as Kenny Bartley, was treated and released Tuesday night at St. Mary's Hospital in Jacksboro for a hand injury he received during the incident. Authorities seized a .22-caliber pistol from him at the school, said Charles Scott, Campbell County Sheriff's Department chief deputy.

yes it looks like blood but I don't see pride on his face. He seems to be in shock, I am reminded of Lady Macbeth and wonder what in the world can cause such things.

When they showed that shot of the kid on the TV, he was shaking his head from side to side slowly.

He did look a little like he was in shock.

I don't see pride or shock; I see apathy. Girlangler said he was a little boy, however, he's as tall as the deputies escorting him to the car. His face is very youthful, though.

One of the local stations said his dad and an attorney was at the hospital with him (before he was released from UTMC). I'm sorry, but if my 16 y.o. has just killed one man and injured two others, calling an attorney and having him meet me at the hospital just isn't going to be my first thought, you know?

Yep. I in East Tennessee. One of the students was interviewed said Bartley had always been sort of an attention getter; a show off. Someone else said he had been suspended and came back to the school and started shooting. By tomorrow the kid's attorney will confide he was on Prozac or Zoloft or something (sigh).
