I think it's enough for her to offer to go into another room. If the Daughter-in-Law from Hell wants to make her house payments or pay the taxes on it, that's a different story. She has a right to smoke in her own home and her son and daughter-in-law have the right not visit with the grandkids. It sounds to me like they have settled on a mutual agreement.
