Hardly. The French and their muslim population have absolutely no reason to respect anything that has an American label on it. Our soldiers' graves have already been desecrate once. Our "questions" (not "freak outs"), are more for a point of reference and concern.

Perhaps, but the article does state:

" ...the "French Intifada," ... had spread almost all over the country, with the exception of Inner Brittany, western Normandy, and Burgundy..."

So unless a person knew the geography of France well, including the location of the US WWII dead, it's not unreasonable to express concern.
