PARIS - A curfew was set up yesterday at Le Raincy, a neighborhood in the eastern suburbs of Paris. The order was issued by the local conservative mayor, Eric Raoult. The prime minister, Dominique de Villepin, made clear on television that similar measures might soon be enforced on a broader scale. "Restoring public safety is our top priority," he said. After 11 days and nights of rioting, the country was coming close to a civil war.
A map published in the afternoon by Le Monde showed that ethnic violence - the "French Intifada," as it is being referred to by some journalists and political leaders - had spread almost all over the country, with the exception of Inner Brittany, western Normandy, and Burgundy, where North African and black communities are small, and Corsica, where a large North African community is held in check by a local nationalist movement that itself is prone to violence. Most major cities, including Lyons, Marseille, Lille, Toulouse, and Bordeaux, have been hit.

Why blame the French government when Muslims the world over live in poverty. It is the religion, hate filled, perverted and sick that prevents these folks from getting what they want. Outlaw the Imams and their teaching hate, and in a hundred years or so, this will all disappear. The French deserve our scorn and disrespect, but this problem is not their making.
The American Battle Monuments Commission runs those cemeteries. A retired American Army colonel is in charge in France. There are civilian workers who watch over the sites, but after a couple graves were desecrated during the run-up to Iraq, he arranged for beefed-up security from the French police--hopefully that is still in place.
Secularization makes the life much easier.
Secularization is what has made the riots. France has abandoned her Catholic roots and embraced the secular materialism that has made the EU apostate. That vacuum is enticing radical islam into action. Appeasment by the French government, as has been proposed, will gain you nothing but contempt. A return to the Natural Laws of God will save you, nothing else.
Perhaps, but the article does state:

So unless a person knew the geography of France well, including the location of the US WWII dead, it's not unreasonable to express concern.

It's in the East. You can buy a nice farm there for a pittance. In fact, many Poles are going across the border to buy property in Eastern Germany since it's cheaper than property in Poland.
That's not true. There are huge housing estates in East Berlin where it is not safe for a foreigner or a minority to go into because they will get attacked by the people warehoused there.
The only thing I know about Corsica is what I learned from reading 'The Matarese Circle'.
Are you white? Did you travel into all the eastern districts? Tour guides published in Britain for English-speaking tourists advise us not to go to some parts of the city because of resentment against westerners and foreigners. This is not something that can be stereotyped as American hysteria--few Americans have any idea what Berlin looks like.

Fact: the movement to free the slaves and later give them equal rights started in the Christian churches.
There is fundamentalism in every religion....When it comes to Jews you get the Orthodox, for Christians you get groups like the Amish. I think we can safely say they are nonviolent. Now in islam you get suicide bombers, airplanes crashing into buildings, hijackings, kidnappings, rapes of non islamic women, the taliban and governments like Iran and Saudi Arabia (lets not forget that islam is not only a religion but a government).
