America and Europe: Whom not to emulate

I've said before that: -- if you want to see what the Democratic Party wants to this country, look at the social welfare states of Europe. This week we've had - from France - a thorough and vivid picture of exactly what that means and what will likely be in store for us if they - the Democrats - succeed in that project.

Let me be very clear, most immigrants who come here -legally or otherwise - are simply regular folks looking for a decent life for themselves and their families, and many of the jobs they do take are those all too many Americans refuse - even if doing so means collecting welfare rather than standing on their own feet. But, there is a limit to the numbers we can absorb in this way without impinging seriously on the quality-of-life of our existing citizens and legal residents. And the spreading violence in France - as well as the bombings in London earlier this year - not to mention the attacks we suffered here on 9/11 - once again underscores the fact that there are other more serious dangers inherent in a policy of open and uncontrolled immigration as well. Emphasised In particular is the lesson that open immigration practiced in tandem with the philosophy and policy of radical "Multiculturalism" as implemented in in Europe and emulated here is nothing but a recipe for disaster. That it is one thing to go far to respect the fundamental elements of Faith and culture among all constituent groups including immigrants, but, that it must be made clear and certain that there are standards and values which are to be understood and respected as a condition of residence, let alone citizenship. And those principles must be taught, accepted, learned and adhered to. And, it should go without saying, that both those foreign nationals currently in residence - as well as those newly arrived - must be monitored for affiliation with, or even sympathy for, extremist ideologies and the groups that purvey them. And that doing so with any effectiveness requires both ongoing surveillance of those in residence as well as thorough vetting of those just arrived - all if which necessitates full control of ones boarders as well as a real effort to uncover and process those in country illegally.

The French, unsurprisingly, got things entirely backwards. They went out of their way to suppress outward signs of piety - the wearing of head scarves and religious symbols - for all faiths - which quite understandably angered most persons of faith - moderate or otherwise. But they failed to carefully delineate and widely disseminate those core elements of French civic culture and values to which adherence by all in residence is vital for the continued survival of their nation as a unique form of political life.

Yet another lesson in what not to do.

So in other words we are suppose to appease their religion, while our Christian heritage, which has made this country great and is under constant siege by the libs, give them a rousing welcome....WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE???

I am not going to disagree with this statement.

I see lazy bums doing nothing but smelling and looking dirty in SF with their hand me something signs.

While I see illegals/legals, whatever, standing in front of Home Depot looking for handyman work or busloads of the same in the agriculture areas tending the fields.

Do you understand why the French banned the headscarves?

To prevent the harassment, beatings, and even rape of those who chose not to wear them. Many muslims considered those who did not wear the head scarves as sluts and deserving of any thing that happened. Even the women joined in this treatment. In many schools, you either wore the head scarf even if you were not muslim or you got your face slashed and were raped.

This is really the essence of the problem. If you've been watching closely, those rioting are demanding their neighborhoods be made off limits to any outside authority including the police. In effect, the riotors are demanding that their neigborhoods come completely under Sharia law and only under that law. France cannot allow this and remain France.

We already have our taste of rioting looting and cities burning
