Yes, but their goverment officials all are chauffeured in Mercedeses or Lexuses . . . Their governors accept western technology in order to swell their riches. Does that put the terrorists against their own governments as well as us, then?

By and large they are: one of Al Qaeda's causi belli is their view that regimes in the Muslim world are corrupt and pro-Western (even Syria is 'pro-Western' in AQ's warped world-view, since their ruling family are member of the quasi-Christian Alawite sect of Shi'ite Islam).
