When ever I stay at a motel or hotel, I ask that I not be billed for a USA Today. You might assume this rag is free but its not. I wish someone (like the Washington Times) would publish a fair and balanced national edition to compete with USA Today and give us business travellers a choice.

You have to admire Gannett's stragegy of building a national newspaper by selling bulk copies to hotels where customers are in a hurry and need brief news summaries. I wonder what another paper could do better...
