Though a majority of the youths committing the acts are Muslim, and of African or North African origin, the mayhem has yet to take on any ideological or religious overtones. Youths in the neighborhoods say second-generation Portuguese immigrants and even some children of native French have taken part. Has anyone seen reporting that indicates there actually is any ideological or religious overtones? Or is it really fair to characterize the riots this way.

Well, with officers down, I hope the pansified socialist French government will now deploy the snipers. Lots and lots of snipers.
Some folks just need killing. Insurrectionists, collaborateurs, saboteurs, spies, personnel captured out of uniform, etc.
Just pick a position and a high-quality low-report rifle and exercise some lethal discretion.

More than 3,300 vehicles have been destroyed, along with dozens of public buildings and private businesses, since the violence began. Buy stock in Renault.

It's time for the Crusades once again. The West needs to destroy enough Muslims that they will not be a problem for hundreds of years.

What would we do?
Just wondering because it may happen sooner than later here if France provides the morale boost to terrorism and/or Muslim extremists they're looking for in order to attempt their ultimate objective, America. Spain provided the first moral victory to our enemies. We are the core of western civilization and without us the world is doomed.

Could this be the second front that terrorists have been looking for? Occupy Western armies so that the Middle East will be left alone? Could this spread to other parts of Europe?

Do you really think Deep Blue America is any more American than these French? This could absolutely happen in the blue zones here.

When the truth can be faced, these problems can be solved. They aren't solved by the nauseating and self-destructive pandering of Karen Hughes and Condi Rice.

Mr. Villepin, a former foreign minister, has focused on a more diplomatic approach, consulting widely with community leaders and young second-generation immigrants to come up with a promised "action plan" that he said would address frustrations in the underprivileged neighborhoods. He has released no details of the plan. This sounds a lot like "affirmative action" to me. I wonder if it will work any better than here. I also wonder whether it will be as popular with the mainstream of France as it is here.
