so far just headlines on CNN and FoxNews sites.
Escaped death row inmate (slipped into someone else's clothes and somehow got out of jail, past several officers,
the other day) caught in Shreveport.

The escape was included in our drill weekend safety briefing. Glad to know that guy has been found.

Yes, but it's Bush's fault he escaped.

Glad they nabbed him.
The practice of housing persons convicted and sentenced to death in the common jailhouse has GOT to stop. They have every incentive to escape using every means possible, including killing guards and/or passersby . . . unlike most of the folks in the jailhouse who are in pretrial detention and thus have a strong motivation to behave at least until they get their day in court. The county jail is not set up for men sentenced to death and thus without hope.

Yeah, it was the President's F-350 pickup truck he was caught driving in.

Two German girls implicated. That's a very interesting development. I saw that he had been in contact with anti-death penalty activists in Europe. How stupid can you get, frauleins?

So far no details have been released other than the fact that the Shreveport Police have confirmed that Thompson was captured...US Marshals will give more details later.

Great post, I agree completely. I've never heard this issue brought up before.

I think that was my great-grandfather's name--let's hope there's no family connection.
