I can imagine that with the last year and the continued assault on all things conservative, it's perfectly natural to be paranoid and see enemies at every turn. Which is why it's imperative for conservatives to band together. We've finally achieved control of the levers of power. The liberals and the media can't knock us off our perch, only we can.
I think the Miers nomination was a perfect example of this. I wish the President had nominated Judge Alito the first time around, but I didn't like how messy and public the fight that should have been kept more private.

And it is far from certain that those who have seized said levers are, in fact, conservative. Re-read the list of grievances that came out post-Miers.
