"The only question remaining is will he leap ahead of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Reagan in his remaining three years in office." WTF?

"But he has stayed around to defend his remarks. Plus he spells well and is articulate."

I don't know why that made me laugh, but I still am... thanks!

I admit that's a bit of hyperbole, but you try to tell me Bush won't go down in history as a great President? What Democrat would you put ahead of him? Aside from Jefferson, and the Democratic-Republicans aren't exactly like the modern Democratic Party?

The Gipper deserves a spot before him.

Yep it is. Like I warned earlier, this can be one ugly free for all.

But we still hang together. Even the conservative Bush Bashers who find him not nearly conservative enough and whose complaints about him outweigh any successes the President has had.

You have been labeled a BushBot from day one, so you will have to work hard to prove yourself to these folks.

They're very important though, as they keep the rest of us from drifting too far from principle just for the sake of "the team."

I agree Reagan did great things, but the one blot on an otherwise spotless record is he left Lebanon after the bombings. With the hindsight of 20 years and 9.11, we know you can't flinch in the face of terrorism. Dubya didn't make that mistake.

I think if Pres. Bush does something about the open borders and spending in his remaining years this term, he will go down as a great president. In any case, his response to Islamofascism will certainly ensure his place in the history books. That said, there is NO comparison between the four great presidents you mentioned and GW Bush (IMHO).

I don't think BushPolicy is for real. I think the religious references are give aways of a parody. No Christian supporter of Bush writes this way.

This is a sarcastic parody of Bush supporters.

Why does this discussion strike people as non-zottable?

Saying their dad should be on Mt Rushmore is no way to get a date with one of the Bush twins.

Welcome to FR.

It appears you are a Bush supporter, and do not appreciate Bush bashing.

While we do not bash W here, we do criticize him often, fairly and with respect.

Your points about W's foreign policy have much merit, and the President is a fine and moral man, still we don't need to cheerlead, but to convince our President that the Conservative agenda is the policy that is SURE to save America.

W needs to be more conservative on spending, growth of government and border control just to name three, so do your homework and chime in, and watch for sarcasm.

I was a BushBot. The Meiers nomination was too much for me. I want to be back in the fold. Alito was a great start. Give me a tough immigration bill, deep discretionary spending cuts, and a simplified tax code and I'll be pushing for President Bush to be on Mt. Rushmore too.

It doesn't hurt to show some enthusiasm.

Okay, I am showing my enthusiasm:
