Washington, D.C.
After many, many months of being a punching bag, the punching bag is ready to fight back. Republicans believe it is long overdue.
On FOX NEWS SUNDAY this morning, Brit Hume reported that he was told at the highest levels that the White House was finally going to engage the Democrats. They will be coming out with a defense of the war in Iraq.
On this forum and around the blogosphere, Republican loyalists have been wondering why the President has allowed the Democrats to get away with calling him a liar. There is a wealth of evidence justifying the war, including 500 tons of yellowcake uranium discovered in Iraq in March of 2003 at the nuclear research center of Al-Tuwaitha. 1.8 tons was enriched. That is not Betty Crocker yellow cake. Hussein wanted a bomb. And yet, a majority of our population does not even know about that find.
The Democrats are doing exactly what they said they would do in their secret memo that was captured by a Republican staffer. They are using the war for political purposes, while they are pretending it is not for political purposes.
If the President will light a fire under his team, support for the war will increase, perhaps dramatically. The President owes it to the troops who have sacrificed and to those who are still out there risking their lives everyday. Step up, Mr. President.

Other than posters on FR, how many people are aware that Hussein fired hundreds of missiles at our pilots prior to the start of the war. Based on that fact alone (which was set forth as a ground for war in the Iraq War Resolution), we were more than justified in going to war against Hussein. It was indeed raised but in military/press circles. MSM did not elect to pick-up on this fact and broadcast it to the nation. There were articles about the pre-WOT firing upon our pilots WHILE our pilots were in the properly restricted zones. Saddam's army/henchmen had NO legal license to be in those zones, whatsoever. The zone was created post 1991 Gulf War.

Would it not be so rich if this were a rope-a-dope and they were waiting for the Dems to jump in with both feet and then knock them into next week???
How sweet it would be.

The President owes it to the troops who have sacrificed and to those who are still out there risking their lives everyday. I'm one of those troops. We're getting shelled tonight, like most every night sinc Ramadan started.
I don't believe we will be supported.

Bush has been giving terrific speeches justifying the war. It should not be only the Whitehouse that has to keep selling this. The lame GOP congresscritters need to get their butts in gear.

Excellent question 'Ollie'. How about these:
- Scott McLellan is a blubbering wimp and lets the DNC shills, oops, WH Press Corp, beat him like a rented mule.
- Scott McLellan is the 'adult version' of that kid who did everyone's Algebra homework - or else.
- Scott McLellan's spine transplant failed.
- Scott McLellan is more concerned about his side job as the voice of Porky Pig than getting Dubya's message out to the people.
- Scott McLellan's night light burned out and David Gregory of NBC promised him a new one for Christmas if he 'played nice.'
- Scott McLellan is a DNC plant.
- Well ... Scott McLellan.
- All of the above.
One person has the job of getting the President's message out and countering the RAT lies - Scott McLellan, and he has failed miserably.

Doug, I firmly believe that's what supporters of the Bush administration want! The new tone is dead and buried.....(I think W finally sees that). I'll be waiting for the first salvo.......*~*.

Republicans believe it is long overdue. You can say that again. How disheartening it is to hear lie after lie from the Democrats go unrefuted. I hope this is for real.
The Democrats are the ones lying about the war. Not Bush. Let's stick to them.
To: beyond the sea
Nope. Eyes Wide Open. And just because the Whitehouse hasn't "striked" when others think it should have doesn't mean there isn't a plan, or a reasonable order to matters. As I've brought up elsewhere especially to the "everything is about illegal immigration" posters -- I do think 3000+ murders in NYC took front stage in addressing. A rather.. pressing priority.
But Beyond the Sea, I would think you'd be glad to hear this "rumor". You don't sound happy about it at all. Why?

On FOX NEWS SUNDAY this morning, Brit Hume reported that he was told at the highest levels that the White House was finally going to engage the Democrats. They will be coming out with a defense of the war in Iraq. First Alito and the SC and now this. Good times...good times.
When, I wonder will be the spending cuts offensive.

1.8 tons was partially enriched - not 1.8 million tons. I've asked the Admin Moderator to correct. Doh. I shouldn't type while talking on the phone.
