After many, many months of being a punching bag, the punching bag is ready to fight back. Republicans believe it is long overdue.
On FOX NEWS SUNDAY this morning, Brit Hume reported that he was told at the highest levels that the White House was finally going to engage the Democrats. They will be coming out with a defense of the war in Iraq.
On this forum and around the blogosphere, Republican loyalists have been wondering why the President has allowed the Democrats to get away with calling him a liar. There is a wealth of evidence justifying the war, including 500 tons of yellowcake uranium discovered in Iraq in March of 2003 at the nuclear research center of Al-Tuwaitha. 1.8 tons was enriched. That is not Betty Crocker yellow cake. Hussein wanted a bomb. And yet, a majority of our population does not even know about that find.
The Democrats are doing exactly what they said they would do in their secret memo that was captured by a Republican staffer. They are using the war for political purposes, while they are pretending it is not for political purposes.
If the President will light a fire under his team, support for the war will increase, perhaps dramatically. The President owes it to the troops who have sacrificed and to those who are still out there risking their lives everyday. Step up, Mr. President.

They would change after five years because they have just been hit in the forehead with a 2 x 4. The Libby indictment and this Rule 21 stunt would be that 2 x 4.

ooops...Kristol is a day late. Tony Snow announced on his Friday show the same info. The WH has gathered the info needed to fight the dims.
It seems that the the only republican with "stones" is Delay.
And that's why the Dim machine is so set on making him ineffective.
With respect, whatever disposition is made of Saddam Hussein, it is trivial compared to the disastrous consequences of allowing the hardcore Left to regain control of the power of the American government in the face of the apocalyptic threats to civilization we are facing.
Love your suggested speech. I sure don't see a downside to him saying it and doing what it says.
What are the 'Rats going to do...stop cooperating? They're already there and then some.
I believe he should take it a step further and challenge RINOs like McMe and DeWhine to pick sides - stand with the President or get out of the way and grovel with the 'Rats.
What I want to know is, is anyone doing the tests on the 1.8 tons uranium that was enriched and the rest for that matter to determine where it came from. There are tests on an atomic level that can be done on all radioactive material that show where in the world it came from within a few miles, and if ANY of it came from Niger, that would do irrepairable damage to the democrat party proving beyond any reasonable doubt that joe wilson is a democrat party hack stooge and was dead wrong about EVERYTHING he said regarding Iraq and the war and the uranium purchase from Niger.
I think those thoughts every damned day- this administration has been behind- in defense since sometime in the summer of '03. It's now two plus years - and they've yet to get in front of a story- they're always playing catch-up. It is late- but not too late to take back control and go on offense.
This doesn't mean they have to act like dems..but come out with the facts, the truth and do it early and often. I agree this communications team has not served the administration well.
What Bush needs is someone like Zell Miller running communications.

President Bush should also articulate to the American people the spread of terrorism, which has nothing to do with the war in Iraq, to various parts of the world and cite recent incidents of Islamo-fascistic atrocities and arrests and thwarted jihadist plots in Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, Denmark, Norway, the UK; as well as the terror plot discovered in Australia that pre-dated its support of the US effort in Iraq.

I'll believe it when I see it. We have no concrete evidence of a change yet.
He can have his sessions in the Oval office and call the media out. Slam each and every one. Call them leftist and only wants to do harm to our nation by printing lies that they know are lies. Tell them that they hate him(Bush) more than they love their country. That should get their panties twisted. Refuse to answer any reporters question and point out to that specific reporter why he is refusing to answer his question.
