On my honeymoon cruise in 1994 off the Florida Keys, our ship stopped and picked up a bunch of Haitians from a raft. Guess there is some kind of law that required them to pick up people in distress rather than call the Coast Guard. Maybe these pirates should have just sent out an S.O.S. to the cruise ship....
